The brief was to find a German word that is also familiar in the English-speaking world and naturally fits denim fashion. The Namestorm team set out on the search and ultimately discovered “Doppelgänger” – a word that is used not only in the UK and the US, but also has an original conceptual link to the two identical legs of a pair of jeans. The umlaut “ä” further reinforces the connection to Germany.

By the way, as we learned with some surprise, having textiles processed exclusively in Germany is no easy task.
